On Jun 28 2011 came home with bed bugs after staying at one of the villa rooms over spring break - march 2011 now spending $400 to rid them from our home! very expensive vacation!

I don't have proof, but my son did leave with some suspicious bites that we think are bed bugs. I had to pay to dry clean every single item in our suitcases and throw away the suitcases. Never again. Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

On Oct 28 2010 Stayed here two nights-Oct 22 & 23 2010 in teh villa wing, room 2232. Checked for bugs initially and did not find obvious signs, but woke up with several red welts from bites. Enjoyed the hotel but cannot take any more risks of bringing the bugs home, so will stay elsewhere in the future. We are going through the luggage carefully, in the garage, bringing things in bit by bit and sterilizing them.

On Aug 27 2010 ...our stay and thought the hotel was lovely and oddly uncrowded until we woke up on checkout day with big red welts on our bodies. We reported this to the hotel and they acknowledged that they had had a bedbug problem as recently as a couple of weeks ago but not in that room. They offered to compensate us for any cleaning or medical bills we might incur but didn't take any further responsibility.

On Aug 29 2009 Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Studios wrote, August 2009 Stayed at this hotel for three days. I awoke each morning with itchy skin. On the third morning there were spots of blood on the sheets and bed clothing. lifted the mattress and there were bugs, Reported it to management.
