I didn't experience a bed bug problem as another reviewer stated, but do not doubt it is possible. There was a general "icky" feeling that I got from the room. It was bearable for one night's stay, but would not recommend this hotel if you are staying in Topeka more than one night.

On May 1 2012 Alohapugs wrote, ...mildew. The TV was even old & poor quality. I immediately started itching and scoured the room for bed bugs. I didn't find any evidence of bed bugs but I did wake up with several bites on my legs, hands and feet. Might be fleas since this is a pet friendly hotel but I can't be sure, didn't see anything. On Jul 29 2011 approximately 30 bed bugs found at 2 in the morning. Per security, not a huge infestation, and only a few nits (babies) found so they were there from 14 to 30 days. They said they were going to close off that room, the room above, below, and to each side for at least 7 days and then they treated the room with 6 hours of 150 degree heat.
