On Oct 8 2012 ...had no idea what they were and we packed and headed back to WV. It wasn't until after arriving home on Tuesday that I found out the bites were caused by bed bugs. I immediately called the Joplin Health Department and reported the incident. At this time I have not been informed of the Inspector's report. Stay away from the Joplin Microtel. This has been very stressful, and a full blown nightmare!

What a shock! Not wanting anyone else to have to experience the swelling and intense itching, I called the Health Dep artment for the city of Joplin. They were to send an inspector to this Microtel. On Nov 20 2010 Found a female full of blood crawling on the bed not long after checkin. We killed her, and checked for others, finding none. Packed back up and went to a different hotel.

On Aug 26 2008 renoannie wrote, I have never bothered to write a review before, but feel it is the responsible thing to do now, because we found bedbugs in our beds during the night! The room had an odd smell, which I did not think much about at the time (I am not a terribly picky traveler). Looking back, I realize it may have been a treatment for the pest infestation. We should have never been given this room.
