On Dec 10 2012 AJOHN01 wrote, Unfortunate that on my first night here I am bitten by bed bugs! Security confirmed and wisked me away to a new room one floor down very apologetically. Cudos for their handling of the situation but unfortunate a "must have" on a hotel stay is a clean bed! This review is entirely based on the bed bugs and not on any other hotel amenities.

I stayed in room 1817 in a double bedded room and slept in the bed closest to the window. I received 8 BED BUG BITES on my upper arm.( do a little Internet research and you will find that BED BUGS stay in one localized area) I will NEVER stay at the Westin Jersey City Newport again! NEVER!

On Aug 21 2012 chicagofan66 wrote, ...you to midtown Manhattan or the World Trade Center. The train was clean and efficient and very low cost. Rush hour is hectic, but it is NYC afterall! The hotel is also 1 block from a mall with large anchor stores, food court, drug store and movie theater. Nice to have that so close as well. The staff was very pleasant and the food was good. I checked my room for bed bugs but did not find any. :)

Service was generally poor during my stay - no ice brought to my room when the ice machine on the floor broke and I was also left abandoned for 20 minutes in the restaurant at breakfast time.
