On Oct 3 2011 I stayed 4 nights at the Sofia Hotel at 150 W Broadway downtown San Diego from September 23-26, 2011 and was literally eaten alive by bedbugs (over 30 bites). When I reported the incident to the hotel, they did not deny that it was a problem. They changed my room for one night but the damage was already done.
